The end result

The large custom Sediment necklace is finished and on its way across the country!

Stainless steel strung through a short length of hollow rubber cord creates the loop for a toggle clasp. (my left thumbnail almost permanently has black paint under it - sorry to everyone except Claire :-)

The beads graduate as they get close to necklace for comfort and to cut some of the weight. (it has about 275 beads!) I was a little sad to say good bye to this piece. I truly labored over it.

  1. So glad you posted the finished piece - it was worth waiting for. The clasp really works as it ends in a right angle that just echoes the tablets in the whole necklace. Perfect.
Wonderful working hands - I too have my little fingernail crescents o'black....

Quite a clever and strong method for the closure.

  6. you do know that this must be museum exhibit level work, right? i am hoping that you make another to have for such an opportunity... while stating that there are 275 beads is impressive, just imagining the hours invested is staggering... beautiful work genevieve...

  8. I found you on Etsy a year - maybe two ago - and I just love your work! Your pieces are so elegant, graphic and organic all at the same time. Truly contemporary and modern with vague hints of deconstructive. So happy I finally found your blog! <3
